Une herbe qui pousse d'année en année. Il a des rhizomes ou des tiges souterraines. Les tiges au-dessus du sol sont dressées ou rampantes et mesurent 1 m de haut. Il existe de nombreuses branches. Les branches sont blanches avec des lignes le long d'elles. Le limbe de la feuille est ovale à oblong et mesure 6 cm de long sur 1,5 cm de large. Les feuilles ont des dents le long du bord.
