Un arbre à feuilles caduques de taille moyenne. Il atteint une hauteur de 9 à 15 m. L'écorce est fine et de couleur gris verdâtre. Il se décolle en fines lamelles. Il donne des gouttes de résine rose lors de la coupe. Les feuilles mesurent 20 à 45 cm de long et se trouvent aux extrémités des branches. Il y a 17 à 31 dépliants et ceux-ci mesurent 3 à 8 cm de long sur 1 à 1,5 cm de large. Ils sont en forme d'épée et ont des dents arrondies le long du bord. Les fleurs sont blanches. Il y a 5-7 sépales et pétales. Le fruit mesure 1,5 cm de long et est 3 coudé avec 3 valves. Il y a 3 noix en forme de coeur avec 1 graine{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
