Une herbe grimpante annuelle. C'est velu. Les feuilles ont des folioles le long de la tige. Il y a 8 à 24 dépliants et une vrille à la fin. Les folioles mesurent 7 à 15 cm de long sur 2 à 8 mm de large. Les fleurs sont bleu rosé. Les gousses sont plates et oblongues. Ils mesurent 2 à 4 cm de long et avec une pointe oblique à l'extrémité.
