Une plante annuelle dressée ou vivace de courte durée. Il atteint une hauteur de 0,5 à 2,7 m. Il y a des poils fins sur les tiges. Les feuilles ont 3 folioles. Ceux-ci sont étroits et mesurent 5-13 cm de long sur 0,5-3 cm de large. Ils sont légèrement poilus en dessous. Les grappes de fleurs mesurent 10 à 50 cm de long, avec de nombreuses fleurs de 2 cm de long. Ils sont jaunes avec des stries rouges. Les ailes des fleurs ont une marque violette à la base. Le fruit est comme un cylindre et mesure 5 à 7 cm de long sur 1,5 à 2 cm de large{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
