Un arbuste ou un petit arbre. Il peut atteindre une hauteur de 2 à 10 m et une largeur de 1,5 à 6 m. Le tronc est noueux et gris. Les jeunes pousses ont des poils gris soyeux. L'écorce est brune et squameuse. Les petites branches sont anguleuses. Les feuilles sont petites, charnues et ovales. Ils mesurent 1,3-2,5 cm de long sur 0,3-0,7 cm de large. Ils sont opposés et gris-vert. Les fleurs sont petites et blanches. Ils ont 6 pétales de papier. La fleur est presque enfermée dans un anneau rougeâtre des sépales externes.
