Un grand arbuste. Il atteint une hauteur de 4 à 10 m et une largeur de 2 à 5 m. La couronne se propage. Les petites branches pendent généralement. Les feuilles sont profondément divisées en 2 folioles qui sont jointes à la base. Les folioles mesurent 1,5 à 3 cm de long sur 1 à 2,5 cm de large. Ils sont d'un vert bleuâtre terne. Les panicules florales mesurent 15 à 25 cm de long. Ils sont à l'aisselle des feuilles supérieures. Ils pendent. Les fleurs mesurent 3-4,5 cm de long et sont rosées avec des étamines rouges. Les fruits sont des gousses de 12 à 15 cm de long sur 4 à 5 cm de large. Ils sont oblongs et aplatis sur le côté. Ils sont noirs. Les graines mesurent 2 cm de long.
