Cet arbre atteint 14 à 28 m de haut. C'est un arbre à feuilles persistantes qui garde ses feuilles tout au long de l'année. L'écorce peut devenir noueuse et déformée. Le tronc est droit. Les feuilles sont longues et étroites avec une marge ondulée. Ils mesurent 22 cm de long. Ils sont vert foncé et brillants. La croissance des nouvelles feuilles est jaune. Il a de petites fleurs de 2 cm de diamètre. Les fleurs sont jaune verdâtre et ont une apparence d'étoile. Ils se produisent en grappes. Les petits fruits comme la prune qui se développent passent du vert au noir à maturité. Ils contiennent une graine annelée. Les fruits mesurent 2 cm de diamètre.
