Un petit lis qui ne cesse de grandir d'année en année. Une plante rampante ou volubile. Il se drape sur d'autres plantes. Il atteint 10-20 cm de haut. Il a une ou deux tiges minces. Il a des tubercules qui se produisent dans une grappe à la base de la plante. Il a des branches sans feuilles. Chaque branche produit une seule fleur. Il a de jolies fleurs violettes. Il y a 3 pétales larges pétales alternant avec 3 pétales étroits. Les larges pétales ont une frange délicate. Chaque fleur ne dure qu'un jour.
