Un petit arbre avec de nombreuses tiges. Il atteint une hauteur de 3 à 8 m. Les branches s'étalent. L'arbre perd ses feuilles au cours de l'année. Les feuilles ont des poils sur les deux surfaces. Le limbe des feuilles mesure 3,5 à 8 cm de long sur 2 à 4,5 cm de large. Les veines sont distinctes. Les bords ont des dents. Les fleurs sont jaunes et mesurent environ 0,5 cm de long. Ils se produisent en petites grappes à l'aisselle des feuilles. Le fruit est lisse, rond et charnu. Il a 1-2 lobes. Ils mesurent environ 0,6 cm de diamètre. Ils sont noir foncé à maturité.
