Un arbuste ou un petit arbre. Il peut être dressé ou allongé. Il atteint 3,5 m de haut. L'écorce est gris pâle et s'écaille. Les jeunes branches sont gris-vert et poilues lorsqu'elles sont jeunes. Les feuilles sont simples et alternes. Les limbes des feuilles sont ovales et mesurent 3 à 8 cm de long sur 1 à 3 cm de large. Les tress sont séparés mâles ou femelles. Les fleurs sont en tête. Les fruits ont 3 sections distinctes. Ils mesurent environ 4 mm de diamètre. Ils peuvent être verts ou violets. Il y a une graine dans chaque section{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
