Un petit arbuste proche du sol. Il atteint une hauteur de 10 à 30 cm et une largeur de 60 à 100 cm. Il a de nombreuses branches. Les feuilles sont étroites et rigides. Ils ont une colonne vertébrale à la pointe. Les feuilles mesurent 5 à 12 mm de long avec des bords poilus. Les fleurs sont comme des tubes et sont rouge vif. Les fruits sont verdâtres et mesurent 7 à 11 mm de diamètre. Le fruit peut souvent avoir des taches ou des rayures violacées. Il y a une grosse pierre à l'intérieur.
