Une herbe. Elle développe un bulbe. Il peut croître chaque année ou continuer à croître d'année en année. Il pousse de 15 à 35 cm de haut. Il y a plusieurs feuilles minces qui se développent à partir du corme. Le bulbe a un long cou. Les fleurs sont blanches, roses, violettes ou lilas. Ils ont un parfum.
