        Une herbe dressée et très ramifiée. Il pousse jusqu'à 1 m de haut. Il continue de croître d'année en année ou complète son cycle de vie sur 2 ans. Il développe une longue racine pivotante. Les feuilles près de la base sont en anneau et sont étroites et avec des lobes qui pointent vers l'extrémité de la feuille. Les feuilles sur la tige sont dispersées. Ils sont étroits et entiers. Les capitules sont jaunes et à l'aisselle des feuilles. Ils ont des tiges très courtes. Ils se produisent individuellement ou par 2 ou 3. Il y a 9 à 15 fleurs dans une tête. Les racines latérales peuvent produire des pousses et les plantes peuvent repousser à partir de racines pivotantes profondément sous le sol. Les graines ont des poils qui leur permettent de souffler dans le vent{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
