        Une herbe annuelle. Il atteint environ 1 m de haut. C'est une plante dressée et des branches. Parfois, les branches pendent. Les jeunes branches sont souvent violettes. Lorsqu'ils sont jeunes, ils peuvent être velus des deux côtés de la tige. La feuille mesure 2 à 12 cm de long sur 0,5 à 3,5 cm de large. Ils sont oblongs et la pointe est pointue. Les bords de la feuille peuvent avoir des dents ou être indentés. La tige des feuilles mesure 2,5 cm de long. Les fleurs se présentent en une à trois ensemble sur les tiges florales opposées aux feuilles supérieures. Le fruit est une capsule à nombreuses graines de 2,5 à 7 cm de long. Le fruit pointe vers le haut et est droit ou légèrement courbé. Il a 3-4 angles et 3-4 valves. Les graines à l'intérieur sont brun foncé et ovales.
